ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying two different techniques used to help manage pain for women undergoing breast surgery, specifically a radical mastectomy for breast cancer. The researchers want to compare the effectiveness of the Serratus Posterosuperior Plane Block (SPSIP) and the Serratus Anterior Plane Block (SAPB) in reducing pain after surgery. Both methods involve injecting local anesthetics to numb the area around the chest, shoulders, and back, but they do so in different ways.
To participate in this study, you must be a woman over 18 years old who has given informed consent and is medically classified as fit for surgery (American Society of Anesthesiologists Physical Status I to III). You should be planning to have a mastectomy with a sentinel lymph node biopsy or axillary clearance. However, pregnant women and those with allergies to any medication used in the study cannot join. If you participate, you can expect to receive one of the pain management techniques before your surgery, helping to improve your comfort during recovery. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it will soon aim to find out which method works best for reducing postoperative pain.
