ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how to improve the placement of spinal anesthesia for women undergoing cesarean sections. Spinal anesthesia is a common way to numb the lower body during surgery, but finding the right spot on the back can sometimes be tricky. This study is comparing two specific landmarks on the body—the Posterior Superior Iliac Spine (a bony point on the lower back) and the Intercristal Line (an imaginary line between the hips)—to see which one helps doctors more accurately identify the best place for the anesthesia.
Pregnant women between 37 and 41 weeks of pregnancy may be eligible to participate if they do not have certain medical conditions that could make the procedure unsafe, such as severe back problems or a high body mass index. Participants will receive careful ultrasound evaluations to help determine the best approach for their anesthesia, which could lead to safer procedures for future patients. If you or someone you know is interested in joining this study, it's important to discuss it with a healthcare provider to understand the details and any potential risks.
