ClinConnect Summary
The MHE3 Clinical Trial, titled "Overcoming Obstacles," is focused on helping Hispanic and Latino individuals connect better with mental health services. The goal is to improve understanding of mental health issues, reduce stigma (the negative feelings about seeking help), and teach coping skills, so that people feel more comfortable reaching out for support even before they face a crisis. Participants will take part in six educational sessions led by Promotores de Salud, who are community health workers dedicated to supporting individuals in their own neighborhoods.
To join this trial, participants should identify as Hispanic, Latino/a, or Latinx, be fluent in English or Spanish, and live in specific zip codes (95116, 95122, or 95127). Individuals who live in the same household as someone already participating in the trial are not eligible. If you decide to join, you can expect to engage in valuable discussions and activities that will enhance your knowledge about mental health and empower you to seek help when needed. This is a great opportunity to strengthen community ties and support mental well-being.
