ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at different methods for closing skin wounds in children who are having surgery. The study will compare three techniques: using adhesive glue, adhesive tape, and sutures (stitches). Researchers want to find out how long each method takes to close the skin, how satisfied parents are with the results, the mental health of the children after surgery, how the healed skin looks, and if there are any complications.
To be eligible for this study, children must be 18 years old or younger and have a clean or slightly contaminated surgical wound that is between 1 and 10 centimeters long. The trial will take place at Hospital Pakar Kanak-Kanak UKM from August 2024 to May 2025, and they are looking to include a total of 90 patients. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of the three skin closure methods, and the study aims to provide valuable insights for parents and healthcare providers about the best ways to ensure a good recovery for young patients.
