ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking to understand how certain measurements, such as blood pressure and brain oxygen levels, can help predict the risk of falls in older adults. Falls can be a serious issue for people aged 65 and older, especially for those who have experienced a fall in the past year. The researchers hope to find out if continuous blood pressure monitoring and near-infrared spectroscopy can provide important information about a person's future risk of falling.
To participate in this study, you need to be 65 years or older and have had a fall in the past year. You should also be able to move from lying down to standing up and be able to understand and sign consent forms. If you have a score of 21 or higher on a mental health test, like the Mini-Mental State Examination, that’s a plus. The study is currently recruiting participants, and if you join, you’ll undergo some simple tests to help the researchers gather important data to improve fall prevention strategies for older adults.
