ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how teaching patients about their care before they undergo tympanoplasty surgery—an operation to fix problems in the ear that can affect hearing and balance—might help reduce pain and complications after the surgery. The goal is to see if giving patients important information and skills before their operation can lead to a smoother recovery and fewer issues afterward.
To be part of this study, participants need to be between 18 and 65 years old, able to read and understand the information provided, and agree to join the trial. They must also be scheduled for tympanoplasty surgery at Hacettepe University Adult Hospital. Those who have certain conditions, such as cholesteatoma (an ear problem that can cause repeated issues), or who have psychological disorders, speech impairments, or irreversible hearing loss, will not be eligible to participate. This trial will help understand the importance of education in recovery after ear surgery, aiming to improve patients’ experiences and outcomes.
