Immunology Vaccine Response

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how our immune system responds to the yellow fever vaccine. Researchers want to understand not just the specific protection it offers against yellow fever, but also if it can help our body fight off other infections as well. This concept is called "trained immunity," which means that the immune system can be prepared to defend against various threats after being exposed to certain vaccines.

To participate in this study, you need to be between the ages of 18 and 65 and have been referred for yellow fever and typhoid vaccinations. You should be able to attend two appointments scheduled seven days apart, and your health should allow for a small blood sample to be taken. However, if you have had these vaccinations before, lived in an area where these diseases are common, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, you may not be eligible. If you join the study, you'll help researchers learn more about how vaccines can boost our immune defenses, and in return, you'll receive the vaccinations as part of your routine care.
