ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating the effects of a special type of eye lens, called Enhance Intraocular Lens (IOL), in patients who have a condition known as epiretinal membrane (ERM) and also need cataract surgery. The goal is to see if this functional IOL can provide better vision outcomes compared to a standard lens after surgery, specifically for patients with ERM. The study will use advanced imaging to assess the condition of the macula, the central part of the retina that is crucial for sharp vision.
To participate in this trial, individuals should be over 40 years old, require cataract surgery, and have a specific eye length and the presence of ERM. However, those with certain eye conditions, prior eye surgeries, or other significant eye diseases will not be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to undergo cataract surgery with one of the two types of lenses, and your vision will be monitored afterward to determine how well each lens type works for people with ERM. This trial is currently looking for participants, so it’s a good opportunity to contribute to important research that could help improve vision for others with similar conditions.
