ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how effective two different medications, dexmedetomidine and magnesium sulfate, are at managing pain after abdominal hysterectomy surgery when used alongside a common pain relief method called bupivacaine. The aim is to find out which of these medications helps patients feel less pain after their surgery. Postoperative pain can be quite severe for many patients, and effective pain management is important for a smooth recovery and to prevent complications.

To participate in this trial, you should be an adult aged 18 or older, weigh between 50 and 85 kg, and be scheduled for a total abdominal hysterectomy. If you join the study, you will receive either dexmedetomidine or magnesium sulfate in addition to bupivacaine during your procedure. This research is important because it could lead to better pain management options for patients undergoing this type of surgery, helping them recover more comfortably and quickly. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to help many patients in the future.
