ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether taking oral magnesium supplements can help patients with controlled bronchial asthma manage their condition better. Researchers want to find out if magnesium can reduce the number of asthma attacks, decrease emergency room visits, and improve lung function and overall symptoms when combined with standard asthma treatments. The study will involve comparing two groups of patients: one group will continue their usual asthma medications, while the other group will take magnesium supplements along with their standard treatment.
To participate in this trial, individuals need to be at least 18 years old and have stable asthma that is currently well-managed. However, people with certain medical conditions, such as severe kidney issues or heart disease, or those who are pregnant, won't be eligible. Participants will take magnesium daily for a year and visit the clinic every two weeks for check-ups. They will also keep a diary to track their symptoms and how their asthma affects their daily activities. This study is currently not recruiting, but it aims to learn more about how magnesium supplementation might be beneficial for asthma patients.
