ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking into how mindfulness practices can help reduce emotional distress, which is a feeling of deep worry or sadness. Researchers want to understand if changes in thinking patterns, specifically a tendency to overthink (called rumination), play a role in how mindfulness helps people feel better. This study is not yet recruiting participants, but when it does, it will include adults aged 18 to 55 who score higher than 21 on a specific scale that measures psychological distress.
To participate, individuals need to have access to the Internet and be able to understand Chinese. However, those who have practiced mindfulness for more than six weeks in the past or meditate more than once a week won’t be eligible. The study is also not for people with certain mental health conditions or those at high risk of suicide. If eligible, participants can expect to take part in activities that explore mindfulness and its effects on their emotional well-being.
