ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a treatment called high definition transcranial direct current stimulation (HD-tDCS) to see if it can help improve social skills in children and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The trial focuses on a specific area of the brain known as the right inferior frontal gyrus. Researchers want to find out if this stimulation can make a difference in how these young people interact socially and to understand how it works in the brain.
To be eligible for the trial, participants need to be between 14 and 21 years old and have a diagnosis of ASD. They won't be able to join if they have other serious mental health or neurological conditions. If someone participates, they will receive the HD-tDCS treatment for 10 days, along with assessments to measure their social functioning and brain activity before and after the treatment. Participants will also have follow-up visits at the clinic every two weeks for check-ups. This study is currently looking for participants, and it aims to provide valuable insights into new ways to support individuals with ASD in improving their social skills.
