ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how computer-based virtual reality (VR) simulation can help nursing students learn about giving oral care to patients who are unconscious. Oral care is an important skill for nurses to master early in their education, as it plays a vital role in patient health. The trial will involve first-year nursing students at a university in Turkey, and it aims to see if using VR improves their knowledge, satisfaction with learning, and self-confidence in performing this practice.
To participate in the study, students must be enrolled in their first nursing course and willing to take part. However, students who have previously graduated from a health-related high school or have received training in unconscious patient oral care are not eligible. During the trial, participants will complete surveys to share their learning experiences and confidence levels. Overall, this study aims to find better ways to teach nursing students important skills through innovative techniques like virtual reality.
