ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on finding ways to prevent a common issue called delayed graft function (DGF) in kidney transplant patients. DGF can reduce the health benefits and overall quality of life after a kidney transplant. The study will look at a special approach to care that includes different strategies, like using specific fluids, maintaining stable blood pressure, controlling blood sugar levels, and being careful with blood transfusions. By comparing this new treatment plan to standard care, the researchers hope to see if it can help improve outcomes for kidney transplant patients.
To participate, you must be at least 18 years old and scheduled for a kidney transplant, either from a living or deceased donor. Unfortunately, if you are receiving multiple organ transplants or if certain procedures are planned for your surgery, you won't be eligible. If you join the study, you'll be randomly assigned to either the new care plan or the usual care, and your progress will be monitored for 90 days after your transplant. The goal is to see how many patients can be successfully recruited for the main study, which will look deeper into the effectiveness of the treatment bundle in preventing DGF.
