ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how different types of tourniquets, which are devices used to stop bleeding, work on the arms and legs. Researchers want to see if there are differences in how well these tourniquets can block blood flow depending on where they are placed on the body. The trial aims to test various commercially available tourniquet models to help confirm guidelines for their use in emergencies.
To participate in this trial, individuals aged 18 to 60 who have all four limbs and a Body Mass Index (BMI) between 18.5 and 30 can apply. However, those with certain health conditions, like diabetes or high blood pressure, or recent injuries, are not eligible. Participants will have the tourniquets applied to their arms and legs multiple times over a few days, and doctors will use ultrasound to check how effectively blood flow is stopped. This study is important because understanding how different tourniquets perform can help improve treatment for people experiencing severe bleeding.
