ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two different methods for providing pain relief after surgery in young children who are having an inguinal hernia repair. The two methods being compared are called the transversalis fascia plane block and the caudal block. Both techniques aim to help manage pain after the operation, and researchers want to see which one works better.
To participate in this study, children must be between the ages of 1 and 7 years, be in good health (as indicated by the American Society of Anesthesiology status I-II), and scheduled for the hernia repair surgery under general anesthesia. Unfortunately, children who have had previous surgeries, have allergies to the study medications, or have certain medical conditions won't be eligible. If your child participates, they will receive one of the two pain relief methods after their surgery, and the team will monitor their pain levels to see which approach is more effective.
