ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a new way to measure pressure inside the head (intracranial pressure) in patients who have experienced head injuries. The researchers want to see how well using an ultrasound to check the size of the optic nerve sheath (the protective layer around the optic nerve) compares to standard CT scans, which are commonly used to assess brain injuries. This trial aims to find out if this ultrasound method is a reliable alternative for evaluating patients' conditions after head trauma.

To participate in the trial, individuals must be over 18 years old and have a specific level of alertness after their injury, as indicated by a score of less than 15 on the Glasgow Coma Scale. They should not have any past or current eye or neurological diseases. However, pregnant women, those with serious eye injuries or other specific eye conditions, as well as individuals with other neurological issues, will not be eligible. Participants can expect to undergo both the ultrasound and a CT scan as part of their evaluation. This study is not yet recruiting, so there will be more information available soon for those interested in taking part.
