ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how a regular exercise program can help the brains of people who have had their first stroke, specifically focusing on patients with hemiplegia (weakness on one side of the body). The researchers want to see if exercise can change certain genes and chemical markers in the brain that are involved in healing and recovery. They hope to find out if these changes can improve motor function (movement abilities) and quality of life for stroke survivors.
To participate, individuals need to be between the ages of 25 and 65, have had their first stroke caused by a lack of blood flow (ischemia), and be seeking rehabilitation at a specific clinic. However, people with other serious neurological diseases or conditions that might make it hard to participate in rehabilitation will not be eligible. If you decide to take part, you can expect to engage in an exercise routine that the study will monitor to see how it affects your recovery. This trial is currently looking for volunteers to join.
