ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new technique for a medical procedure called endotracheal intubation, which is used to help patients breathe during surgery. Specifically, the researchers want to find out if having two operators using a special video tool called the GlideScope makes it easier to successfully place the breathing tube on the first try, compared to just one operator doing it alone. They will also look at how long the procedure takes, whether adjustments are needed, and if there are any complications, such as problems with oxygen levels or sore throat afterward.
To participate in the trial, you need to be an adult at least 18 years old and generally healthy (classified as ASA Class I to III), undergoing a planned surgery that requires intubation. Unfortunately, those with more serious health issues or certain conditions that affect the airway won’t be eligible. If you choose to participate, you will be assigned to one of two groups: one group will have a single operator intubate you, while the other will have two operators. Throughout the study, your safety and comfort will be a priority, and the team will monitor any potential complications closely.
