ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how the strength of certain muscles, particularly those in the pelvic floor and related to breathing, affects children with lower urinary tract dysfunction (LUTD). LUTD can cause problems like frequent urination, bedwetting, and difficulty fully emptying the bladder. The trial aims to understand the connection between breathing exercises and pelvic floor muscle training, and how these might help improve symptoms in girls aged 6 to 14 who experience LUTD.
To participate, girls must have been diagnosed with LUTD and experience bedwetting at least twice a week, or daytime wetting at least once a month for three months. Healthy girls in the same age group can also join the study. Participants will engage in exercises focusing on their breathing and pelvic muscles, and researchers will monitor their progress. Importantly, certain conditions like urinary system abnormalities or respiratory diseases may exclude a child from joining the trial. This study could help develop better approaches to treating LUTD in children.
