Runners Sprint Performance Sled Training Track And Field

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial, titled "Resisted Training in Runners," aims to explore how different types of sprint training can improve the performance of long-distance runners. Specifically, it looks at traditional sprinting and a method called resisted sprint training, where runners pull a sled while sprinting. The researchers want to understand how these training methods affect runners' running economy (how efficiently they use energy), speed, and other important movement factors like how long their feet stay on the ground when running.

To participate, runners need to be between 18 and 35 years old, have at least two years of running experience, and run more than 30 kilometers per week. They should also have competed in a 10km race or longer in the past six months. Participants will be randomly assigned to either the sprint or resisted sprint group, with both groups taking part in two training sessions a week for eight weeks. Throughout the study, researchers will measure various performance-related factors before and after the training to see how effective these methods are. This trial is currently recruiting participants, so if you're a dedicated runner looking to enhance your performance, this could be a great opportunity!
