ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how to better manage blood pressure during elective cesarean sections (C-sections) to reduce complications for mothers and their babies. When women receive spinal anesthesia for a C-section, they sometimes experience a drop in blood pressure, which can lead to symptoms like nausea and vomiting, and may affect the baby’s health. The trial is comparing two methods of monitoring blood pressure: the standard method, which checks it at intervals, versus a continuous method that uses a special device to predict when blood pressure might drop. The goal is to see if the continuous method can help prevent low blood pressure more effectively.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be women over 18 years old who are having a planned C-section at full term. Women with certain health issues, such as high blood pressure or heart problems, or those who need an emergency C-section, cannot participate. If someone joins the study, they can expect to be monitored closely during their surgery, and researchers will also look at how the mother's blood pressure impacts the baby's health after birth. Overall, this trial aims to improve safety and outcomes for both mothers and their babies during C-sections.
