ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding the outcomes for patients who have undergone surgery and are then admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Specifically, it aims to identify factors that could lead to serious complications or even death in these high-risk surgical patients. By studying medical records from the ICU over a two-year period, the researchers hope to gather important information about the characteristics of these patients, which could help improve their care and chances of recovery.
To be eligible for this study, patients need to have a surgical diagnosis and be admitted to the ICU either right after surgery or as part of their postoperative care. However, patients who were admitted to the ICU from another hospital or who had their surgeries at a different facility will not be included. Participants will help researchers learn more about the challenges faced by surgical patients in the ICU, which could ultimately lead to better treatment strategies and outcomes for future patients.
