ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how having pharmaceutical technical assistants (PTAs) in hospital wards can improve the way medications are dispensed and ensure patient safety. The researchers want to understand if PTAs can help nurses save time during their night shifts, reduce mistakes with medications, and improve communication between nursing staff and the pharmacy. They will compare periods when PTAs are involved in the medication process with times when they are not, checking for things like how long it takes to dispense medications, how often nurses need to contact the pharmacy unexpectedly, and the accuracy of the medications given to patients.
To be part of this study, nurses must have at least six months of experience working night shifts, and PTAs must have six months of experience specifically in dispensing medications. Participants will be observed while they prepare medications, and they will help report any errors or delays in the process. This study is designed to gather important information that could lead to better medication safety and efficiency in hospitals. If you or a loved one are eligible, you can expect to be involved in this important research aimed at improving patient care.
