ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying two different methods of surgery for a condition called pterygium, which is a growth on the eye's surface. The researchers want to compare the traditional method that uses stitches (sutures) with a new method that does not use stitches (sutureless). They hope to find out if the sutureless technique is quicker and gives patients a better experience overall. If the results show that this new method is more effective, it could change the way surgeons perform this common eye surgery.
To participate in the trial, you need to be an adult between 18 and 60 years old and have been diagnosed with primary pterygium. Unfortunately, if you have other serious eye conditions, bleeding disorders, or if you’ve had pterygium before, you won’t be eligible to join. If you do participate, you can expect to undergo one of the two surgical techniques and then share your experience afterward to help researchers understand which method works better for patients. This study is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to improve eye surgery techniques for everyone in the future.
