ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring how personal stories can inspire people with severe kidney disease to consider getting a kidney transplant from a living donor. The researchers have created a library of videos called the Living Donation Storytelling Library, where donors and transplant recipients share their experiences. The goal is to see if watching these stories can help patients feel more ready and motivated to pursue living donor kidney transplants, especially in communities that may face barriers to getting this treatment.
To participate in this study, individuals must be at least 18 years old and on a waiting list for a kidney transplant at the Vancouver Kidney Transplant Program. They should be able to understand English and provide informed consent, which means they agree to participate after understanding what the study involves. Participants will watch videos from the library and share their thoughts, helping researchers understand if these stories can make a difference in their decision-making process. This study aims to ensure that all patients, especially those from underrepresented communities, receive the support they need in their journey toward transplantation.
