ClinConnect Summary

The clinical trial, called Project BADGE, is looking at how a text message program can help patients with diabetes who visit the emergency department (ED). The goal is to see if providing educational materials about diabetes through text messages can improve patients' understanding of their condition, reduce their stress related to diabetes, and help them take better care of themselves. This study is particularly important because it aims to support underserved communities that face higher rates of diabetes and related health problems.

To participate in this trial, you need to be an adult aged 18 or older who has poorly controlled diabetes or has just been diagnosed with diabetes. You should also be able to speak either English or Spanish and have a cell phone that can send and receive text messages. If you are interested in joining, you can expect to receive helpful information about managing diabetes through your phone, which could make it easier for you to take charge of your health. Keep in mind that this trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to make a positive difference in the lives of those dealing with diabetes in emergency situations.
