ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on finding ways to reduce delirium, a state of confusion that can happen to older adults when they are in the hospital, especially those who are 70 years or older. Researchers believe that changing the hospital environment to help improve sleep could make a big difference. They will use a special program called a multi-modal sleep hygiene (MMSH) bundle, which has already shown promise in previous studies by helping to cut down delirium cases in half.
To participate in this trial, patients must be at least 70 years old and not critically ill. This means they should not be in intensive care or dealing with serious substance withdrawal or psychiatric issues. Eligible participants will be admitted to specific hospital units that are part of the study. If you or a loved one is involved, you can expect to be part of a program that aims to create a more restful environment during your hospital stay, which could help reduce the risk of experiencing delirium.
