ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a condition called bronchiolitis, which is a common viral infection affecting the airways in young children. The researchers want to find out how well different clinical scales—tools used by doctors to assess the severity of bronchiolitis—can predict important health outcomes for children hospitalized with this condition. This study will help improve how doctors care for children with bronchiolitis by identifying which assessment tools are most effective.
To participate in this trial, children must be between 5 weeks and 24 months old and must have been admitted to the hospital with a diagnosis of acute bronchiolitis. They should show symptoms like difficulty breathing or wheezing. Children with a diagnosis or suspicion of asthma will not be eligible for the study. Although the trial is not yet recruiting participants, families can expect to contribute to important research that may enhance the treatment and understanding of bronchiolitis in young children.
