ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a type of surgery called retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS) that is used to treat kidney stones that are 1 to 4 cm in size. Typically, this surgery is done using general or epidural anesthesia, but researchers want to see if it can be safely performed using local anesthesia instead. Local anesthesia means that only the area being treated is numbed, which could make the surgery easier for some patients. The goal of this study is to find out how safe and effective RIRS is when done under local anesthesia and to identify any factors that might influence the surgery's success.
To participate in this trial, you need to be between 18 and 70 years old and have kidney stones or upper ureteral stones that are not larger than 4 cm. However, certain conditions might exclude you from joining, such as having other types of stones that require different surgery, serious health issues, or being pregnant. If you do take part, you can expect to receive care in a single-center location, where the researchers will closely monitor your health and the surgery's outcomes to help improve future treatments.
