ClinConnect Summary
The "Bliib Fit - Mach Mit!" clinical trial is studying how a video-based exercise program can help improve physical fitness in older adults living in residential care facilities. The researchers want to find out if this program can make participants feel stronger, improve their quality of life, reduce their fear of falling, boost their confidence in doing daily activities, and increase how much they move each day. To do this, they will compare the video program with a standard exercise program led by caregivers over 12 weeks, with sessions happening four times a week for 20 minutes each.
To participate, individuals must be able to give written consent and have a low to moderate risk of falling. They should also be able to follow exercise instructions independently and score at least 20 on a mental fitness test. However, those who cannot speak or understand German, have a high risk of falling, or have specific health issues that could make exercising unsafe will not be eligible. Participants can look forward to a structured, supportive environment where they can engage in enjoyable physical activity tailored to their abilities.
