ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on improving a prediction model for a type of thyroid surgery called transoral and submental endoscopic thyroidectomy. This surgery is done through the mouth and under the chin, which can be less invasive than traditional methods. The researchers previously developed a model to help identify which patients might have difficulties during this surgery, and now they want to update and test this model in a new group of patients. The goal is to make this approach more effective and to help train future surgeons.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should have a diagnosis of differentiated thyroid cancer or a benign thyroid nodule that is not too large. Specifically, the cancer should be no bigger than 4 cm, and the nodule no larger than 6 cm. Importantly, there should be no signs of cancer spreading to nearby lymph nodes or other parts of the body. People who have had previous neck surgery, have certain neck conditions, or show signs of cancer invading beyond the thyroid may not be able to participate. If you join the trial, you can expect to help researchers learn more about which patients can benefit most from this less invasive surgery.
