ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on finding the best treatment options for generalized lichen planus, a long-lasting skin condition that causes inflammation and rashes. The study will compare two well-known medications, acitretin and methotrexate, to see which one is more effective, safe, and affordable for patients. The goal is to help improve treatment for those suffering from this condition.
To participate in the trial, you must be between the ages of 18 and 60 and have been diagnosed with generalized lichen planus. It’s important that you haven’t received any treatments for this condition in the past month. Unfortunately, if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have certain health issues like bleeding disorders or liver problems, you won’t be eligible to join. If you do participate, you can expect to receive one of the two medications and be monitored for its effects. This study is important as it aims to provide better options for managing lichen planus, ultimately improving the quality of life for patients.
