ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the factors that can lead to complications after a surgery called cranioplasty, which is done to repair defects in the skull. These defects can occur due to injuries or conditions affecting the brain. While cranioplasty is important for protecting the brain and improving its function, it can come with risks, including infections and bleeding. The goal of this study is to identify what might increase these risks, helping doctors to better predict and manage complications for patients undergoing this surgery.
To participate in the trial, individuals must have had a cranioplasty at certain hospitals between January 2015 and July 2023, have a diagnosed cranial defect, and have complete medical records. Those with a history of cranioplasty or serious health issues will not be eligible. Participants can expect to contribute to research that aims to improve surgical outcomes for future patients, which could lead to safer procedures and better recovery experiences.
