ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well hormonal medications, like birth control pills, patches, and hormonal intra-uterine devices, help manage heavy menstrual bleeding in young women, both with and without bleeding disorders. The researchers want to find out if these treatments work similarly for both groups and how they affect quality of life, as well as levels of hemoglobin and iron in the blood, which are important for overall health.
To participate in the study, you need to be a female adolescent or young adult under 26 years old, experiencing heavy menstrual bleeding, and willing to start a hormonal treatment. However, if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, currently using hormonal medications, have certain uterine issues, or are taking blood-thinning medications, you won’t be eligible. If you join the trial, you can expect regular check-ins and support while the researchers track how well the treatment works for you. Your involvement could help improve future care for others with similar issues.
