Newborn Pain Breastfeeding Vibration Heel Blood Collection

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how different methods can help reduce pain during heel blood collection in healthy newborns. Specifically, it will compare the effects of breastfeeding, using vibration, and a combination of both methods on the pain levels experienced by babies when a small blood sample is taken from their heel. The goal is to find out which method works best to make this routine procedure more comfortable for infants.

To be eligible for this study, parents need to volunteer and give their consent. The newborns must be full-term (born between 38-42 weeks of pregnancy), aged 2 to 4 days, and have passed their hearing test. They should weigh between 2500 and 4400 grams. It's important that parents can read, write, and speak Turkish. However, babies with chronic illnesses or congenital anomalies will not be included in the study. If you choose to participate, you can expect to help researchers learn more about effective ways to manage pain in newborns during this common procedure.
