ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether listening to music can help patients feel better during their hospital stay after having a stroke. Researchers want to find out if passive music listening can reduce feelings of anxiety and depression, improve how patients see their overall health, and even help with sleep and pain management. The study involves patients with different types of strokes who are being treated at San Raffaele Hospital in Milan. Participants will be randomly assigned to either listen to music regularly during their hospital stay and for three months after discharge or to not listen to music at all.
To be eligible for the trial, participants need to be Italian speakers who are admitted to the hospital between 24 hours and 4 days after their stroke. They should be able to understand and respond to questions and have a mild stroke severity score. Patients who are deaf, have major mental health issues, or other serious conditions that might affect their ability to participate will not be included. Throughout the study, researchers will check how participants feel at the beginning, when they leave the hospital, and three months later to see how music listening impacts their emotional and cognitive well-being.
