ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new treatment approach for varicocele, which is a condition where the veins in the scrotum become enlarged and can lead to issues like testicular pain and fertility problems. The researchers want to see if combining two methods—surgical ligation, which involves tying off the affected veins, and sclerotherapy, a less invasive procedure where a special solution is injected to close the veins—can improve the results and reduce complications.
To participate in the trial, individuals must be over 18 years old and have been diagnosed with a moderate to severe varicocele that is confirmed by a doctor. They should also experience testicular pain or have issues with their sperm quality. However, those with certain conditions like pre-existing hydrocele (fluid buildup in the scrotum) or previous surgeries in the area may not be eligible. Participants can expect to receive a combination of these treatments and will be monitored for their safety and the effectiveness of this approach. This study aims to find out if this new combination can help men with varicocele experience better outcomes.
