ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how to monitor the health of a specific type of surgical flap called the anterolateral thigh flap, which is used in reconstructive surgeries for the arms and legs. The goal is to keep a close eye on the flap after surgery to ensure it is getting enough oxygen and is functioning properly. Researchers will use various methods, including checking the color and temperature of the flap, measuring how well blood is flowing, and using a special device to continuously monitor oxygen levels in the tissue. This study aims to gather important information that could help identify when a flap might be at risk of failure.

To be part of this trial, participants need to be scheduled for reconstructive surgery using the anterolateral thigh flap on either their upper or lower limbs. The trial is open to all adults, but they must be willing to give written consent to take part. If you join the study, you can expect regular check-ups after your surgery to monitor the health of the flap, helping doctors understand how well the flap is recovering. This research could eventually lead to better care and outcomes for patients undergoing this type of surgery.
