ClinConnect Summary
The ICARE-LCS trial is studying how to improve lung cancer screening for Veterans by integrating effective treatments to help them quit smoking. Smoking is a major cause of lung cancer, which is why this trial aims to help Veterans who are being screened for lung cancer to also receive support for tobacco dependence. By doing this, the study hopes to save more lives and reduce health inequalities among Veterans. The trial will gather information from various VA sites across the country to help create better programs for tobacco treatment in lung cancer screenings.
This study is not yet recruiting participants, but it focuses on Veterans who receive care at VA medical centers. Anyone interested in participating should keep in mind that the trial is designed to be inclusive and does not have specific exclusion criteria. Participants will be part of important research that could lead to better health outcomes for Veterans in the future.
