ClinConnect Summary
The C-SMART trial is studying a new way to help relieve headaches, specifically migraines and tension-type headaches. Researchers believe that a technique called carotid sinus massage (CSM), combined with a specific body position known as the modified Trendelenburg position, may help reduce headache pain. This study aims to see if this method can provide immediate relief for people suffering from headaches.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be experiencing migraines or tension-type headaches. However, there are some health conditions that would prevent someone from joining, such as certain heart issues or a history of strokes. If eligible, participants will receive CSM while lying in the modified Trendelenburg position, and this will be done up to three times, with a short break in between. Before and after the treatment, participants will rate their pain on a simple scale. This trial is currently not recruiting participants, but it aims to offer a potential new option for those looking for relief from their headaches.
