ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is investigating two different treatments for a condition called trigger finger, which causes pain and difficulty when bending or straightening your finger. The study aims to compare the effectiveness of extracorporeal shockwave therapy, a non-invasive treatment that uses sound waves to promote healing, against splinting, which involves using a support device to keep the affected finger in a stable position.

To participate, you must be at least 18 years old and have mild to moderate symptoms of trigger finger, such as pain or locking of the finger. Unfortunately, those with trigger thumb, previous treatments for trigger finger, or certain medical conditions won’t be eligible. If you join the study, you'll be randomly assigned to one of the two treatment groups and will visit the clinic once a week for four weeks. You’ll also keep a diary to track your symptoms, which will be reviewed after six weeks. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it offers an opportunity to help researchers learn more about effective treatments for trigger finger.
