ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at how two different medications, dexmedetomidine and fentanyl, can help reduce pain after a common surgery called laparoscopic cholecystectomy, which is the removal of the gallbladder. The goal is to see which of these medications works better when given before the surgery to help manage pain afterwards. Pain management is important because it can affect how quickly patients recover and whether they need to stay in the hospital longer than necessary.

To participate in this study, individuals must be adults aged 18 to 60 with a healthy body weight (BMI between 18 and 30) and classified as ASA I or II, meaning they are generally healthy or have mild health issues. However, people with certain conditions, such as allergies to anesthesia, serious heart or lung problems, or those who are very overweight, will not be eligible. Participants can expect to receive either dexmedetomidine or fentanyl during the procedure, and researchers will carefully monitor how well their pain is managed afterwards. This study aims to find safer and more effective ways to help patients feel comfortable after surgery.
