ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how effective a special treatment using curcumin, a natural compound, combined with a technique called photodynamic therapy (PDT) can be in reducing pain after dental procedures. Specifically, the researchers want to see if using this curcumin solution as a final rinse in root canal treatments can help lessen the discomfort patients feel afterward. While previous studies have shown that curcumin can help kill bacteria in the root canal, this trial is the first to focus on how it affects pain after the procedure.
To take part in this study, participants need to be healthy adults aged 18 to 60 who have had certain types of teeth treated before, like incisors, canines, and premolars. They should have a specific dental issue, like a chronic infection, and their teeth should only have one root canal. However, patients with certain conditions, like existing tooth fractures or infections, or those allergic to specific medications, will not be eligible. If someone joins the trial, they can expect to receive the curcumin treatment during their dental care and will help researchers understand its effects on pain management.
