ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new approach to help manage pain after laparoscopic cholecystectomy, which is a surgery to remove the gallbladder. The researchers are testing a technique that involves injecting a mix of a long-lasting pain medicine called Bupivacaine and a medication that helps reduce inflammation called Dexamethasone. The goal is to improve pain control during and after the surgery, reduce the need for stronger pain medications (like opioids), and lower the chances of patients needing to return to the hospital due to complications like nausea or vomiting.
To participate in this study, patients should be between the ages of 65 and 74 and scheduled for a laparoscopic gallbladder removal, either as an elective procedure or in an emergency situation. However, individuals with certain conditions, such as specific bile duct problems or allergies to local anesthetics, will not be eligible. Participants can expect to receive the injection during their surgery, and the study aims to see if this method can help them recover more comfortably and effectively.
