ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is investigating the effects of Pilates training on patients with drug-resistant epilepsy, a condition where seizures are not well-controlled by medication. The study will involve 40 participants who are aged between 18 and 65 and have been diagnosed with this type of epilepsy. To be eligible, participants should be able to walk independently, not have had a serious seizure for at least a year, and should not be involved in any regular exercise program.

Participants in the trial will be divided into two groups: one group will continue their usual medication, while the other group will take part in Pilates classes three times a week for eight weeks, in addition to their medication. The study aims to see if Pilates can help reduce the number of seizures, improve balance and stability, enhance cognitive functions (like memory and attention), and overall improve quality of life, sleep, and feelings of depression. This trial is currently recruiting, and it's a great opportunity for those looking to explore additional ways to manage their epilepsy symptoms.
