ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is designed to evaluate how effective a special imaging test called Magnetic Resonance Cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) is for diagnosing a condition known as obstructive jaundice, which is when there is a blockage in the bile ducts that can cause yellowing of the skin and eyes. The study will compare MRCP with other common imaging methods, like Ultrasound and Computed Tomography (CT), to see which one provides the most accurate information. The results from MRCP will be compared to findings from other procedures, such as Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and histopathology, which are considered the most reliable ways to diagnose this condition.
To participate in this study, individuals must be adults (ages 18 and older) who have been clinically diagnosed with obstructive jaundice and have positive lab test results confirming the diagnosis. However, those with different types of jaundice or certain medical conditions that prevent them from undergoing an MRI, such as having a pacemaker or metal implants, will not be eligible. While the trial is not yet recruiting participants, those who join can expect to undergo various imaging tests and contribute to our understanding of the best ways to diagnose this condition.
