ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how managing blood sugar levels during surgery can affect recovery after a specific type of operation called pancreaticoduodenectomy, which is a major surgery on the pancreas and digestive system. The researchers want to find out if using a real-time continuous glucose monitor (RT-CGM) helps keep blood sugar levels in a healthy range during surgery. They will compare this approach to standard methods of blood sugar management to see which one leads to better recovery and fewer complications after surgery.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 18 years old and scheduled for pancreaticoduodenectomy. You should also be classified as having low to moderate risk for surgery (ASA classification I-III). However, if you are having emergency surgery, have an allergy to the glucose monitor sensor, or have other specific health issues, you may not be eligible. If you join the trial, you can expect to have your blood sugar levels monitored closely during surgery, and the study will help improve our understanding of the best ways to manage blood sugar for better recovery outcomes.
