ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on developing a new scale to assess symptoms related to the throat and voice after patients undergo general anesthesia. Many people experience issues like a sore throat, hoarseness, or difficulty swallowing after surgery, especially when an endotracheal tube (a tube placed in the windpipe to help with breathing) is used. These symptoms are often temporary but can sometimes lead to more serious problems. By creating a standardized way to evaluate these symptoms, the goal is to help healthcare providers recognize and manage them better, improving patient care and satisfaction.
To participate in the study, you need to be between 18 and 65 years old and have received general anesthesia for a surgical procedure. Participants should be awake, able to communicate, and willing to join the study. However, those who have had regional anesthesia (which numbs a specific area of the body) or have any existing issues with their throat or voice won’t be eligible. If you join, you can expect to help researchers better understand and improve how these common symptoms are assessed and treated after surgery.
