ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how a special type of massage called endorphin massage can help reduce feelings of fear, anxiety, and pain before mastectomy surgery. The study will include 82 patients who are scheduled for their first mastectomy and have already been receiving treatment for breast cancer. It will take place at Atatürk University Health Practice and Research Hospital from January 2024 to November 2025. Researchers will collect information using simple questionnaires that measure anxiety and pain levels.
To participate in this study, you need to be 18 years or older and aware of your diagnosis. You should be receiving monthly treatments for your condition and be scheduled for your first mastectomy. However, if you have advanced cancer, a serious mental health condition, or are already part of another research study, you won't be able to join. If you decide to participate, you'll receive the endorphin massage before your surgery, and your feelings about the surgery will be checked to see how the massage affects your anxiety and pain.
